Government data still confirms a long term cooling trend for the US

The cooling trend for the continental U.S. shows no signs of abating.  For the most recent 12 month period ending in July, the trend since 1998 has been over 10.3 degrees Fahrenheit of cooling per century.  Of course, as I always remind readers, this is just a trend and will change over time but nonetheless it reaffirms what honest climatologists have been saying for years now:  there has been no global warming for the past 15 years or so.  Throughout this time period carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere have steadily risen.   Hmmmmm………interesting, no?

By the way, the next time Al Gore goes on one of his cursing tirades calling claims of no global warming in recent years, “bullshit”, he might want to consult with NOAA, the source of this data.

Most Recent 12-Month Period (Aug – Jul) 1998 – 2011 Average = 54.05 degF

Most Recent 12-Month Period (Aug – Jul) 1998 – 2011 Trend = -1.03 degF / Decade (10.3 deg F / Century)
